As we suggested last month when the law was finally taken to the Parliament for approval the withdrawal of the Spanish Golden Visa was definitely going to have an end point this month and now we know what it is. The 3rd of April 2025 will be the final date for the Golden Visa. Applications made before this date with all of the correct paperwork will be accepted even if they are not resolved beforehand.
Twenty-first final provision. Modification of Law 14/2013, of 27 September, to support entrepreneurs and their internationalization. Law 14/2013, of September 27, supporting entrepreneurs and their internationalization (The Golden Visa law), is modified as follows:
You can read the relevant part of the law on the BOE page here (Page 261 if you are interested.) However here is the translation. Important parts in bold and explanations when needed in italics.
One. Articles 63, 64, 65, 66 and 67 are left without content. (This means the Golden Visa programme no longer exists)
Two. A new first transitional provision is introduced with the following drafting:
«First transitional provision. Applications submitted prior to entry in force of the Organic Law of measures regarding the efficiency of the Public Service of Justice. Those investors or relatives of investors who, prior to the date of entry into force of this transitional provision, would have presented the corresponding application, they may receive the corresponding visa or authorization in accordance with the regulations in force on the date of submission of the application." (If you apply before the cut off date of 3rd April with the correct paperwork you will be granted the GV)
Three. A new second transitional provision is introduced with the following
drafting:
«Second transitional provision. Visa and authorization renewals for investors for the acquisition of real estate. Visas and authorizations for investors that are valid on the date of
the entry into force of this transitional provision, will retain said validity during the time for which they were issued. In the case of submission of renewal requests, they will be processed and will be resolved in accordance with the regulations in force on the date of granting the initial authorization." (In other words renewals will be honoured meaning any existing Golden Visa will be renewed as long as the conditions remain in place for having been given it initially via investment in property for example)

It means you still have time to get here and get the Golden Visa if that is what you are looking for and if you already qualify for it but never got round to applying then you can do it now and get it even if you don't really need it currently.
